Gas hydrate formation in gas-liquid slug flow.

Author(s) : ELPERIN T., FOMINYKH A.

Summary

A model was developed for analysis of heat and mass transfer during gas hydrate formation at the gas-liquid interface in gas-liquid slug flow. Under the assumption of perfect mixing in liquid plugs, simple expressions were derived for heat transfer rate and the rate of gas hydrate formation in gas-liquid slug flow. It is shown that total heat and mass fluxes from an infinite cluster of slugs are independent of the initial temperature in liquid.
