Summary

THE THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF NON-AZEOTROPIC REFRIGERANT MIXTURES WERE INVESTIGATED FOR HEAT PUMP AIR CONDITIONERS. R13B1-R152A WAS EVALUATED IN A WATER-TO-WATER HEAT PUMP APPARATUS AT THE TEMPERATURE TYPICAL OF AIR CONDITIONING, RESULTING IN A COP 20% HIGHER THAN R22. THE HEAT PUMP AIR CONDITIONER ITSELF WAS ALSO EVALUATED. THE PERFORMANCE OF AN AIR CONDITIONER USING R13B1-R152A REFRIGERANT MIXTURE WAS TESTED IN AN AIR-TO-AIR HEAT PUMP APPARATUS. ALTHOUGH THE SAME RESTRICTIONS AS CONVENTIONAL AIR CONDITIONERS WERE PUT ON THIS APPARATUS, THE COP WAS IMPROVED AND THE SUPERIORITY OF R13B1-R152A WAS REALIZED.
