Summary

To investigate the heat and mass transfer performance on regeneration process using condensation heat, experiments were performed in a hybrid air-conditioning system using LiCl solution with low concentration as the liquid desiccant. The regenerated rate and utilization ratio of condensation heat were regarded as evaluation criteria of regeneration performance. The effects of the important operating parameters on performance of the system were analyzed experimentally. The results show that, the air and solution mass flow rate and inlet temperature had a positive impact on the performance of regeneration. Under typical condition of summer, when the solution concentration is from 21.20% to 24.91%, the utilization rate of condensation heat is between 0.416 and 0.507, and the utilization rate of condensation heat would be increased if solution concentration reduced. Finally, Empirical correlations coupling heat and mass transfer coefficients were presented. In addition, the experimental results provided reliable data for the further analysis about how to make utilization of condensation heat efficiently on solution regeneration process.
