Summary
Thermoelectric refrigeration has a low efficiency as air conditioning in civil field. The application can be extended if the heat can be recovered to heat water while cooling the air. An experimental prototype has been built to investigate the influence of the air velocity on the cold side, temperature difference of air supply, water flow rate of the hot side, temperature difference of water flow, the input power and other parameters when the temperature of cooling water inflow is 11 and 30°C, respectively. The experimental results indicate that the hybrid system of the thermoelectric air conditioner and water heater is feasible and nimble; the utilization of energy is more effective and comprehensive.
