Experimental investigation of heat and mass transfer with aqueous ammonia.

Author(s) : HOFFMANN L., ZIEGLER F.

Summary

The experimental arrangement mainly consists of three heat exchangers mounted in one vessel. They work as absorber, generator, and dephlegmator. The experiments focus on the influence of the solution flow rate and the heat load on the processes of absorption and desorption. From other working pairs it is known, that these processes also depend on physical properties of the solution, e.g. the viscosity and the surface tension. By a variation of the ammonia concentration over a broad range it is tested, whether similar dependencies are valid with aqueous ammonia. The experimental arrangement, the method of data reduction and the experimental methodology are presented.
