Summary

The paper, which is a continuation of a series of publications on the creation of modified ice coatings for sport applications considers a new method proposed by the authors on the vizualization of ice structures, modified by different polymers, using a scanning cryo-electric microscope. The obtained images confirmed the existence of a regular, artificially brought-in structure of the ice-surface layer, and allowed also to determine a characteristic size and form of crystal grains, their configuration during the introduction of different groups of polymers, changes with time in the modified structure, and the period of existence of such structures. The main result was that it became possible to find the interrelationship of the parameters of the obtained crystalline structure as well as the velocity, strength, elastic-plastic optic properties of ice structure. The method of vizualization of ice crystalline structure is also useful for gas phase control.
