Summary

The diffusion generation of the refrigerant and pumping process of the solution both happen in the bubble pump for a diffusion absorption heat transformer. This paper investigated the effect of diffusion generation of refrigerant and pumping performance of the bubble pump in an experimental setup. The influences of the motive head, the inner diameter of the lifting tube, temperature of vapor mixture and flow rate of diffusion gas on the performance were found. The flow rate of refrigerant increased more and more slowly with the increasing flow rate of diffusion gas while the pumping ratio decreased sharply. The lifting tube with small inner diameter,
high vapor mixture temperature and small motive head were suitable for the required small pumping ratio of bubble pump in a diffusion absorption heat transformer.
