Summary

NEW CONVENIENT EXPERIMENTAL SETUP FOR THE STUDY OF THE VARIATION OF THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY WITH TEMPERATURE, FOR ANY SOLID MATERIAL IN THE RANGE 35-300 K, WITH THE HELP OF A GIFFORD-MCMAHON CRYOREFRIGERATOR. SO AS TO TEST THE SETUP, THREE SAMPLES OF ELASTOMER, WITH DIFFERENT COMPOSITIONS, SUITABLE FOR CRYOGENIC APPLIANCE, WERE PREPARED IN CYLINDRIC SHAPES OF 6.00 CM DIAMETER AND 1.2 CM THICKNESS AND THEIR THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY HAS BEEN MEASURED AT 100, 120, 130, 150, 170, 190 AND 210 K. THE RESULTS ARE IN FULL AGREEMENT WITH THE PUBLISHED LITTERATURE. THIS ENSURES THE RELIABILITY AND ACCURACY OF THE EXPERIMENTAL SETUP.
