Summary
THE PAPER REPORTS ON THE EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF TWO DIFFERENT ELEMENTARY CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR STAGES WITH A THREE DIMENSIONAL BLADE IMPELLER. THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS SHOW THAT THE STAGE DESIGNED BY THE AUTHORS HAS A BETTER PERFORMANCE IN SAVING ENERGY AS COMPARED TO THAT OF DE LAVAL AND THE METHOD OF DESIGNING A RADIAL, MIXED FLOW IMPELLER WITH A GIVEN CONTROLLED VORTEX DISTRIBUTION IS RELIABLE. THE EXPERIMENTAL METHOD, ERROR ANALYSIS AND SOME WAYS DECREASING EXPERIMENTAL ERRORS ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
