Summary

THE THERMAL BEHAVIOUR OF PAINTINGS ON CANVAS AND WOOD WHEN SUBJECTED TO VARIATIONS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL THERMOHYGROMETRIC CONDITIONS IS STUDIED. A SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF SEVERAL ELEMENTARY CAUSES OF DISTURBANCE IS PERFORMED. A SATISFACTORY AGREEMENT OF THE RESULTS OBTAINED WITH THOSE OF A THEORETICAL APPROACH IS FOUND. A MATHEMATICAL MODEL ALLOWS TO DETERMINE THE MEAN RADIATING TEMPERATURE INCREASES IN CASE OF PEOPLE CROWDING CLOSE TO THE PAINTINGS.
