Summary

Experiments on a standing-wave thermo-acoustic engine driving an RC (resistance and compliance) load through an acoustic pressure amplifier (APA) have been carried out to study the effect of load impedance and length of APA on the performance of the thermo-acoustic system. The experimental result indicates that the acoustic pressure amplification effect of APA is significantly impacted by the load impedance. Additionally, influence of the APA length on the amplification effect is also discussed.
