Simulation of high-frequency pulse tube cooler matching thermoacoustic engine.

Author(s) : TANG K., CHEN G. B., HUANG Z. J., et al.

Summary

A good matching between a pulse tube cooler and a thermoacoustic engine is of great importance for performance of a thermoacoustically driven refrigeration system. Simulation with linear thermoacoustics has been focused on a regenerator of a pulse tube cooler to find suitable dimensions matching pressure ratio and acoustic power of a standing wave thermoacoustic engine operating at 45 Hz. Computed results indicate that a cooling temperature of 30 K is possible for a pulse tube cooler driven by a standing wave thermoacoustic engine.
