Long thin tubes in thermoacoustic systems.

Author(s) : DAI W., LUO E., HU J., et al.

Summary

Long thin tubes can show a variety of acoustic behaviours when connected with a certain acoustic load and play key roles in thermoacoustic system. This article generalizes characteristics of tubes with two different functions in the thermoacoustic system: the acoustic amplifier tube for coupling the thermoacoustic engine and the pulse tube cooler and the inertance tube for the pulse tube cooler, which have partly formed the basis of the authors' recent experimental advances. Based on the same governing equations with isothermal wall boundary conditions, detailed analyses of them with normalized parameters are given respectively.
