Summary

In this study, an experimental platform was built to investigate the separation performance of 4 designed different separators which had significant influence on ejector-expansion system performance, by means of visualization and heat balance method. The results showed the oblique injection separator with top outlet pipe inserting inside the separation tank presented the best performance, reaching 244?W cooling capacity at -25?°C evaporation temperature. With such separator, the COP of ejector-expansion refrigeration system could be improved by 16.7% at -30?°C evaporation temperature compared with normal refrigeration system. However, as the evaporation temperature increased further, the ejector showed less significant impact on the system performance.
