THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DIFFERENT ODOUR INTENSITY SCALES AND THE PERCENTAGE OF DISSATISFIED WITH TOBACCO SMOKE WERE INVESTIGATEDFOR JAPANESE SUBJECTS IN THE AIR QUALITY TEST CHAMBER. EXPERIMENTS WERE CONDUCTED WITH 18 SMOKERS, 18 PASSIVE SMOKERS, AND 83 PANELS. THE SCALES OF ODOUR INTENSITY DEVELOPED BY YAGLOU, FANGER, MINAMINO AND ENVIRONMENTAL AGENCY OF JAPAN WERE COMPARED.
