Summary

Superconducting niobium(3)-aluminium tapes with a niobium sheath were prepared by the powder metallurgy method using the diffusion reaction between equilibrium phase and niobium powders. For the specimen obtained by ohmic heating and subsequent annealing, the highest onset critical temperature was 18.5 K. Critical current was 41 A/mm2 at 20 T and supercritical field was 27 T.
