Fault detection in air conditioning systems using artificial-intelligence techniques.
Author(s) : DEXTER A. L., FARGUS R. S., et al.
Summary
Discusses the advantages and disadvantages of modular fault detection and diagnosis schemes based on fuzzy system theory, artificial neural networks, embedded physical models and generic knowledge. Presents the results of a simulation of a three-zone VAV air conditioning system to demonstrate the ability of the schemes to detect two different types of faults-fouling of the cooling coil and incorrect tuning of the supply air temperature controller of the air handling unit.
