Summary
Superconductors can provide apparatuses with reasonable design for electric power systems, in which conventional designs have not always been optimum due to various restrictions. In the paper, the results of the feasibility studies of superconducting generators on the bases of their costs for manufacturing, installation, operation, fuel and others are reported. The superconducting generators with capacities over 200 MVA will be feasible and produce great benefits in economics and operations of power systems.
