Dossier Italie : bilan 2002 des ventes de glaces industrielles.

Type of article: Article

Summary

Unfavourable weather conditions in 2002 led ice-cream consumers to favour home consumption, especially of ice cream sold in multipacks. According to Information Resources, total ice-cream sales (excluding discount sales) increased by 1 % in volume and by 3 % in value with 1.5 billion units and 716 million euros respectively. Multipacks represented almost half of the sales in volume, i.e. 6 % more than in 2001. Sagit, Nestlé italiana and Samontana cover 80 % of the ice-cream market.
