USA now has legislation to limit refrigerant loss. All technicians must have and use recovery equipment, and individual certification will be mandatory late in 1994. Other regulations specify maximum acceptable leakage rates, use of recycled refrigerants, evacuation pressures and disposal of appliances. A.R.T.
