Summary

1992 US REGULATIONS WILL PROHIBIT THE VENTING OF CFC AND HCFC GASES. RECLAMATION PROCESSES REQUIRE COMPLEX DISTILLATION PLANT, AND ARE EXPENSIVE BUT RESTORE THE REFRIGERANT TO ITS ORIGINAL STANDARDS OF PURITY. AN INCREASING AMOUNT OF REFRIGERANT WILL BE RECYCLED BY THE LOCAL OPERATIVE, USING SIMPLE FILTRATION AND DRYING METHODS. THE END PRODUCT WILL DEPEND ON THEPURITY OF THE GAS REMOVED FROM THE PREVIOUS EQUIPM ENT, AND THE METHODS OF CLEANING UP. HIGHER RESIDUES OF MOISTURE, OIL AND ACIDS MUST BE EXPECTED. RE-USE MAY BE RESTRICTED TO LESS SENSITIVE PLANT. RECLAIMING TECHNIQUES ARE GIVEN. A.R.T.
