Finite elements based solution for heat transfer with phase change in a rectangular enclosure.

Summary

The paper presents a numerical solution of the heat transfer problem with phase change inside a rectangular finned cavity filled with phase change material. The two dimensional problem is formulated using the enthalpic method and the finite element representation. Three discretization schemes were tested to choose the most appropriate among Lee's scheme, the modified Predictor-Corrector and the implicit scheme.
