FIRE RESISTANCE OF COLD ROOM PANELS.

COMPORTEMENT AU FEU DES PANNEAUX DE CHAMBRES FROIDES.

Author(s) : HAGNOUL D.

Summary

GOOD FIRE RESISTANCE IS MORE AND MORE REQUIRED BY END-USERS. THE MANUFACTURER OFTEN REFERS TO STANDARD TEST CLASSIFICATIONS WHICH ARE, IN FRANCE, FIRE REACTION AND FIRE RESISTANCE. UNFORTUNATELY MOST END-USERS DO NOT EXACTLY KNOW THE CONTENTS OF SUCH TESTS. TO SET FIRE TO A COLD ROOM IN A TEST SUCH AS THE AMERICAN CORNER TEST IS THE MOST REALISTIC APPROACH TO THE QUESTION. THE CONCLUSIONS ARE THAT THE FIRE REACTION CLASSIFICATION IS NOT A COMPLETE SOURCE OF INFORMATION AND THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO BUILD POLYURETHANNE INSULATED COLD ROOMS WITH OUTSTANDING FIRE RESISTANCE QUALITIES.
