Flexible heat pump or chiller with hybrid water/LiBr absorption/compression cycle.
Number: AB-YR3-1151
Author(s) : HELM M., ECKERT T., SCHWEIGLER C.
Summary
The general concept and the thermal design of a hybrid absorption/compression cycle with an electrically driven high-speed turbo compressor directly integrated in the sorption process of a single-stage water/LiBr cycle are presented. The system shall be operable in pure sorption mode and in hybrid absorption/compression mode, offering a boost of cooling capacity or increased flexibility for operation with low-grade driving heat or increased temperature of heat rejection.
