Summary

It is very important for industry to clarify the shape of a pipe fitting with the branching angle of 135 degrees which has small energy loss caused by flow dividing in turbulent flow. In the paper, before the shape is investigated, the results are reported which were obtained by theoretical analyses and experiments in laminar flow for the pipe fitting with sharp lateral entrance which is the most fundamental shape.
