Summary

This document is one of a series of technical documents drafted for the World Food Summitt (the final version will be disseminated at a date closer to the Summitt). It emphasizes the energy needs considered as the minimum for estimating the corresponding quantity of energy of plant origin. The energy needs are estimated for 2050 according to the different scenarios based on demographic and nutritional variables and their interaction.
