Summary
The trend in office buildings has been to reduce overall heat gains from glass or lighting, but to increase random loads in the form of office machines. This requires more flexibility to deal with local sources of heat. Forecasts are made of 7 ways in which this challenge will be met, with the greatest degree of comfort for best economy. Existing VAV systems can be upgraded. An essential feature will be to allow the occupant to have some control of zone conditions. A.R.T.
