THE PAPER STUDIES THE CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH A CENTRALISED SUMMER AIR CONDITIONING PLANT CAN BE USED AS A HEAT PUMP FOR HEATING SPACES IN WINTER AND MID-SEASONS. THE CHANGES TO BE BROUGHT TO THE ORIGINAL PLANT (MAINLY FOR THE COLD SOURCE, THE HEATING EMITTERS, THE REFRIGERATING UNIT AND MAINLY ITS CONTROL) ARE LISTED AND THREE EXAMPLES OF APPLICATION ARE GIVEN (A LARGE 9,700 M2 DEPARTMENT STORE, A 24,000 M2 RESIDENTIAL BUILDING BLOCK AND A 3,200 M2 OFFICE BUILDING), DETAILING FOR EACH CASE THE CHANGES BROUGHT AND THE ENERGY AND COST RESULT.
