From high-temperature superconductivity to microminiature refrigeration.

Author(s) : CABRERA B., GUTFREUND H., KRESIN V., LITTLE W. A.

Type of monograph: Book

Summary

This book has been compiled as a commemoration to Bill Little's rich scientific career over the past 40 years or more. The first section of the book contains a collection of reprints (15) from his most important scientific papers on topics as: energy transfer, superconductivity and superfluidity, neural networks, refrigeration, and history. These publications contain a remarkable range of important contributions from his early treatise on Kapitza boundary resistance for phonons. The second section of the book contains contributions based on the William Little Symposium, which was held at Stanford University, USA, on September 30, 1995. These papers cover subjects on polymers, recent research on high-temperature superconductors and on the theory and application of microminiature refrigerators.
