Type of monograph: Other
Summary
In civil engineering, frost is a phenomenon which has to be taken into account and which can be used in certain cases. Under temperate climates, constructions have to resist to frost and thaw. The book considers mainly temperate to cold climates. It gives some climatological notions, and analyses the properties and mechanisms of grounds which have a relation with frost. The action of frost on grounds is then analyzed in detail on pratical and theoretical points of view.
