THE AUTHORS REPORT CLINICAL EVIDENCE THAT PERIOPERATIVE TRANSFUSIONS OF WHOLE BLOOD AND UNWASHED RED CELLS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED SURVIVAL OF UTERINE CANCER PATIENTS AFTER OPERATION AND/OR IRRADIATION THERAPY. ON THE OTHER HAND, FROZEN THEN THAWED DEGLYCEROLISED RED BLOOD CELLS (FROZEN BLOOD) WERE BENEFICIAL TO THOSE PATIENTS. G.R.S.
