SEPARATION AND CRYOPRESERVATION OF HUMAN MYELOID PROGENITOR CELLS.

Author(s) : MCGANN L. E.

Summary

THE USE OF A CENTRIFUGATION GRADIENT FOLLOWED BY DIFFERENTIAL SEDIMENTATION ENRICHED STEM CELLS AND MADE IT POSSIBLE TO COLLECT THEM IN SOME FRACTIONS. THESE CELLS CAPABLE OF FORMING COLONIES OF GRANULOCYTES AND MACROPHAGES AFTER CULTURE, CAN THUS BE SEPARATED FROM THE OTHER CELLS, MAINLY LYMPHOID AND BE CRYOPRESERVED. THESE CELLS HAVE DIFFERENT RESPONSES TO OSMOTIC SHOCK. THESE PROPERTIES CAN BE USED FOR THE SELECTION AND FREEZING OF HEMATOPOIETICSTEM CELLS FOR POSSIBLE CURATIVE USE.
