Type of article: Article
Summary
57% OF TRUCKERS EXPERIENCED AN INCREASE IN FROZEN FOOD HAULAGE IN 1985 COMPARED WITH NEARLY 70% IN 1984. PURCHASES OF REFRIGERATED TRAILERS INCREASED SLIGHTLY OVER 90% OF WHICH USE MECHANICAL REFRIGERATION. DEREGULATION BETWEEN STATES HAS HAD A MIXED EFFECT OVERALL BUT HAS GENERALLY DEPRESSED FREIGHT RATES. THE USE OF COMPUTERS IN THE INDUSTRY IS ALSO ILLUSTRATED. G.R.S.
