Summary

A new equation of state is presented for the thermodynamic properties of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf) based upon available experimental data. The equation has a form of the fundamental equation of state explicit in the Helmholtz energy. The independent variables are temperature and density. Comparisons of calculated values with the new equation are made with available experimental data for the vapour pressure, liquid density, and liquid isobaric heat capacity. The estimated uncertainties of calculated properties are 0.2% in the vapour pressure, 0.2% in the liquid density, and 2% in the liquid heat capacity, except in the critical region where deviations from experimental values are expected to be higher for all properties.
