Gas-fired ejector-absorption cycle technology for building air conditioning.

Author(s) : EAMES I. W., TUCKER R. J.

Summary

The paper describes the manufacture and testing of a novel gas-fired combined ejector-absorption (CEA) cycle refrigerator. This cycle has been shown to be at least as efficient as double effect vapour absorption machines but with reduced complexity. The paper shows that when operating at its design temperature conditions the COP of the prototype 30 kWc CEA refrigerator was found to be 1.05 based on the useful heat input to the generator. This compares to a COP of 0.7 measured when the prototype machine was operated in the single-effect mode.
