Summary

BECAUSE OF VERY LOW CARGO TEMPERATURE OF THE LNG CARRIER, WHICH IS ABOUT 111 K (-162 DEG C), THERMAL STRESSES WILL BE INDUCED IN THE TANK SYSTEM WHEN THE SHIP IS LOADED. THERMAL STRESSES IN THE FREQUENTLY USED MOSS ROSENBERG SPHERICAL TANK SYSTEM ARE INVESTIGATED. A METHOD TO CALCULATE THE THERMAL STRESS IS DEVELOPED.
