Göteborg Energi AB offers district cooling by using district heating operated absorption chillers.
Author(s) : HELLBERG S.
Summary
In the project, agreements have been signed for deliveries of 14 megawatts of cooling: the use of "freons" has diminished by approximately 5.5 tons and the use of electricity by approximately 4,500 megawatts/hour per year. These environmental gains have been possible thanks to the use of absorption chillers, in combination with the district heating. In district cooling the authors use district heating operated absorption chillers. So far they have erected separate lithium bromide absorption chillers for respective buildings.
