Summary

Thermomorphogenesis makes it possible to reduce or prevent the application of chemical growth regulators on greenhouse plants. A temporary inversion of nocturnal temperatures (3 K increase in the middle of the night and 5 K decrease at the end of the night) reduces by 9.5% the average lengthwise growth of various ornamental plants in autumn and winter, without increasing energy expenses.
