COPPER TUBES WITH A GROOVED INTERNAL SURFACE ARE BEING MORE AND MORE USED IN HEAT EXCHANGERS BECAUSE OF THE IMPROVEMENT IN THE COEFFICIENT OF HEAT TRANSFER THEY PROVIDE. A COMPARISON BETWEEN THEIR THERMAL PERFORMANCE AND THOSE OF PRIME SURFACE TUBES HAS BEEN MADE AND THE VALUES OBTAINED FOR THE COEFFICIENTS OF HEAT TRANSFER BETWEEN WALL/R22, ACCORDING TO THE VAPOUR MASS FRACTION AND FLUID FLOW RATE ARE PRESENTED IN DIAGRAMS.
