HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER ANALYSIS OF A DESICCANT LAYER FLOWING OVER A ROOF.

Author(s) : GANDHIDASAN P.

Summary

THE AUTHOR PRESENTS A THERMAL MODEL DESCRIBING A METHOD FOR REDUCING THE HEAT FLUX TRANSFERRED, COMBINED WITH THE SOLAR REGENERATION OF A LIQUID DESICCANT SOLUTION, OF AN OPEN REFRIGERATING SYSTEM WITH CONTINUOUS ABSORPTION, THE SOLUTION FLOWING ON A ROOF. THIS LAYER IS SUBJECTED TO PERIODIC VARIATIONS OF SOLAR RADIATION AND OF THE EXTERNAL TEMPERATURE ; THE BOTTOM SURFACE OF THE ROOF IS AT THE CONSTANT TEMPERATURE OF THE BUILDING. THE EXPRESSIONS OF THE TEMPERATURES OF THE DESSICCANT SOLUTION AND OF THE ROOF ARE OBTAINED IN THIS WAY. THE AUTHOR SHOWS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE LAYER THICKNESS AND OF FLOW RATE ON THE OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM.
