HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER PERFORMANCE OF AIR COOLERS UNDER WET CONDITIONS.

Summary

REGARDING THE EVALUATION OF PERFORMANCE OF AIR COOLERS UNDER THE WET CONDITION, AN EQUIVALENT ENTHALPY TRANSFER COEFFICIENT AND AN EQUIVALENT MASS TRANSFER COEFFICIENT CAN BE MENTIONED. THE PAPER SHOWED THAT THE EQUIVALENT ENTHALPY TRANSFER COEFFICIENT IS INFLUENCED NOT ONLY BY AIR TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY, BUT ALSO BY THE TUBE SURFACE TEMPERATURE PROVIDING BOTH HEAT AND MASS ARE TRANSFERRED AT THE SAME TIME. IN THE CASE OF A CONSTANT AIR TEMPERATURE AND A CONSTANT HUMIDITY, THE EQUIVALENT ENTHALPY TRANSFER COEFFICIENT IS LOW, AS THE TUBE SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF THE AIR COOLER IS HIGH. THE EQUIVALENT ENTHALPY TRANSFER COEFFICIENT CAN BE PREDICTED, BY UTILIZING ONLY THE SURFACE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT OF THE FIN, UNDER SEVERAL CONDITIONS OF AIR TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY.
