DESCRIBES THE CALCULATION, STRUCTURE AND DIMENSIONS OF A SHEET ALUMINIUM PARALLEL-PLATE HEAT EXCHANGER OPERATING ON THE COUNTERFLOW PRINCIPLE. PROVIDES A SIMPLE EQUATION FOR THE EFFICIENCY. STATES THE EXCHANGER IS CHARACTERISED BY HIGH EFFICIENCY AND LOW PUMP CAPACITY. A THEORETICAL EFFICIENCY OF 93 % HAS BEEN CALCULATED (95 % HAS BEEN MEASURED). DEFINES THE EFFICIENCY AS THE RATIO OF RECOVERED HEAT TO THAT CONTAINED IN THE EXHAUST AIR. WITH AN AIR THROUGHPUT OF 100 M3/HOUR AND AN ELECTRIC PUMP CAPACITY OF 18 WATTS IS REQUIRED. (INT. BUILD.
