Summary

This European standard provides information for the evaluation and the presentation of the acoustic characteristics of operating heat exchangers. It specifies the methods for uniformly determining and recording: the weighted sound power level A; the acoustic spectrum; a method for calculating a mean total level of acoustic pressure at a given distance. Among these data, the acoustic level is the only non-ambiguous characteristic. This standard applies to forced convection air-cooled refrigerant condensers as specified in EN 327 and to forced convection dry cooling liquid chillers as specified in EN 1048.
