Summary

DESCRIPTION OF THE REFRIGERATION PLANT SIMULTANEOUSLY PROVIDING REFRIGERATION AND HEATING TO A SUPERMARKET IN BELGIUM. THREE SEPARATE CENTRAL STATIONS SUPPLY THREE SECTORS OF THE STORE: THE FIRST FOR REFRIGERATED DISPLAY CABINETS HEATS THE SHOP SPACE, THE SECOND FOR COLD ROOMS HEAT DRY STOCKS AND THE THIRD FOR FROZEN FOOD DISPLAY CABINETS HEATS THE PAY-DESK ZONE. THE AUTHOR STRESSES THAT THE DESIGN AND BUILDING OF THE SUPERMARKET WERE STUDIED AT THE SAME TIME AS REFRIGERATING EQUIPMENT, SO THAT REFRIGERATION AND HEAT LOADS ARE IN FULL EQUILIBRIUM, IN ORDER TO AVOID AN AUXILIARY HEATING PLANT, MAINLY THANKS TO STRONG INSULATION AND A SATISFACTORY AIR-TIGHTNESS OF THE BUILDING (ONLY ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL HEATING IS REQUIRED ON MONDAY MORNINGS IN WINTER PEAK TIMES).
