Summary

AN ANALYTICAL METHOD IS USED FOR COMPARING THE OPERATING COSTS OF TWO AIR-AIR HEAT PUMPS, WITH AN ANNUAL CYCLE, QUITE SIMILAR, EXCEPT FOR THE PRESENCE OF TWO HERMETICALLY SEALED COMPRESSORS IN PARALLEL ON THE SAME REFRIGERATING CIRCUIT ; THE COMPRESSORS HAVE A NOMINAL CAPACITY OF 1/3 AND 2/3, RESPECTIVELY, OF THE OVERALL CAPACITY OF A CORRESPONDING SINGLE COMPRESSOR. THE COMPARISON SHOWS THAT THE TWO-COMPRESSOR SYSTEM IS SUITABLE ALSO FOR SAVINGS: ABOUT 20% IN SUMMER OPERATION AND 13% IN WINTER OPERATION.
