Summary

THE STORAGE TANK EFFICIENCY IS AFFECTED BY FACTORS RELATED TO SYSTEM DESIGN, STRUCTURE OF THE TANK, NUMBER OF TANKS. THE AUTHORS ANALYZED THE EFFECT OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTORS, THEN REDUCED THE NUMBER OF FACTORS BY NONDIMENSIONING. THEY USED THE DESIGN OF EXPERIMENTS METHOD IN WHICH EXPERIMENTS ARE REPLACED BY COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM SIMULATION. THE ACCURACY OF THE ESTIMATION TABLE WAS CONFIRMED BY COMPARING THE EFFICIENCY VALUES AND TEMPERATURE PROFILES BETWEEN THE ESTIMATED VALUES AND THE SIMULATED VALUES.
