Heat transfer calculation for absorption heat pumps under variable flow rate conditions.

Author(s) : ALBERS J., ZIEGLER F.

Summary

An extended method of characteristic equations has been derived, which is more accurate and can be applied to off-rated or variable flow rate conditions also. The influence of variable flow rates on the heat transfer is incorporated by means of heat transmission ratios and temperature difference ratios. The latter can be derived from frequently used dimensionless numbers in heat transfer calculations, i.e. without the knowledge of internal temperatures. For the former ones, it is shown that they can be determined satisfactorily if only one ratio of internal to external heat transfer coefficients per heat exchanger can be y estimated roughly.
