Heat transfer during incompressible oscillating laminar flow.

Transferts thermiques en écoulements oscillants laminaires incompressibles.

Author(s) : NIKA P., BAILLY Y., LANZETTA F.

Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

The authors investigated thermal phenomena occurring between 2 infinite parallel plate over which oscillating laminar flow at an average speed of zero. A 1D model is presented and rendered dimensionless; interesting scale parameters emerge. The particular case of an incompressible fluid in laminar flow is used as an illustration and the particular features of heat exchange according to the length of the plates and the flow pattern of the fluid are presented in discussion form. Conclusions concerning the sizing of the thermal exchangers of Stirling machines or gas pulse tubes are proposed.
