Summary

AN ANALYTICAL MODEL TO DESCRIBE THE TRANSPORT PHENOMENA UNDERGONE BY A CRYOGENIC FLUID DURING PRESSURIZATION BY A PRESSURANT GAS IS PRESENTED. A TYPICAL SYSTEM OF LIQUID OXYGEN WITH NITROGEN AS THE PRESSURANT GAS IS STUDIED. THE PARAMETERS VARIED ARE FLOW RATE OF THE CRYOGENIC FLUID, PRESSURANT GAS TEMPERATURE AND THE PRESSURE INSIDE THE TANKS. THE GOVERNING EQUATIONS OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER WITH THE APPROPRIATE BOUNDARY CONDITIONS WERE TRANSFORMED INTO THEIR RESPECTIVE FINITE DIFFERENCE ANALOGUES AND SOLVED EXPLICITLY.
