HEAT TRANSFER IN AN ANNULAR TWO-PHASE FLOW.

Author(s) : DOBRAN F.

Type of article: Article

Summary

PREVIOUS WORK ON UPWARD FLOW IN A VERTICAL ANNULUS HAS ASSUMED THAT THE TURBULENCE STRUCTURE IS IDENTICAL TO THAT IN SINGLE-PHASE FLOW. MODELS BASED ON THIS FOR TWO-PHASE FLOW GIVE INACCURATELY HIGH PREDICTIONS OF HYDRODYNAMIC AND HEAT-TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS. THE AUTHOR DEVELOPS A MORE ACCURATE MODEL BY INCORPORATING THE EFFECT OF ENTRAINED LIQUID DROPLETS IN A GAS PHASE. D.W.H.
